Happy Birthday Shreya!

Tuesday was Shreya's Birthday. I can't believe this girl is TWO!! I still remember bringing her from the hospital like it was yesterday.
What started out like this,
has turned out to this
My children seem bound and determined to grow up with or without my permission, so I suppose I must let them even if I don't always like it. Anyways, She had a fun little Birthday party at the park with brother. As she loves Dora, we decided to go with a Dora cake and she even got some Dora toys.
These two years have been so special with this cutie. She makes me laugh with all the funny things she does trying to copy her brother. She makes our lives so exciting and full of sweet memories. Thanks for the two wonderful years little girl. You are too precious for mommy and daddy. Love you tons.

Self- reflection as a mother

Last week since Grant started school I have had things going in my head. I kind of felt like sometimes I took things for granted when I had him around for 24/7. Now that he is in school for most of the day, I've been missing him and feel like there are a lot of things I can do better as a mother to have a lasting impact in my children's lives. I know Grant's growing up and he's only little once. Someday I won't have another chance to tell stories, I won't have another chance to watch him in a school play or at church singing or even watch him run around roaring like a dinosaur or pretending to be a super hero. So I just need to enjoy it while it lasts. I know sometimes as mothers we feel like this:

But at the end of the day, kids make us more beautiful than anything that the world can provide because they are our personal angels that God sent to love, teach and keep. So this month, I made it a goal to spend quality time with my kids and enjoy them more even if they are my little monsters at times and raise them with love, patience and respect and most importantly raise them in the Lord's way. I ask Heavenly Father to give me the wisdom to guide my children's feet so that someday they’ll be able to walk on their own, righteously, in his ways. To help me be patient and give me a gentle hand to mold them into better people, I pray that I'll be a good teacher and an even better example, so someday I can feel good about the job well done as a parent. Recently, I've been reviewing my standings as a mother with this quote by President Monson--"As parents, we should remember that our lives may be the book from the family library which the children most treasure. Are our examples worthy of emulation? Do we live in such a way that a son or a daughter may say, 'I want to follow my dad,' or 'I want to be like my mother'?" I'm glad to be a mom to these two wonderful kids

and love them with every bit of my heart!

A special day

On the 15th Grant started Kindergarten. It was a bitter-sweet moment for me to see him go to school. The night before school was really hard, I was almost in tears thinking that he wasn't my baby anymore. I still remember the first day he was born like it was yesterday. Anyways, second and third day of school have been better emotionally for me, So I think I can do this. But, I still think all day kindergarten is just too much for their little heads. He seems to love it so that's all that matters right? I thought he would be a little nervous to start school but it seemed like he was Happy
Excited
and even a little crazy to start school
Finally the boys both walked off to school that morning
The 15th was also special for another reason. It was Steven's Birthday!I had a very special day planned for him. Since he would be in school all day, I thought I would surprise him with a cake during lunch. So,I did! We had a fun little party with some of his friends from class.
Later that day, we had to have daddy cut another cake just for Grant because he was sad he was going to miss daddy's surprise Party while in school. He also had to help daddy blow out the candles on the cake.
Finally we went out and ate at
to finish our crazy exciting day!

Beach!

So last weekend we were in South Carolina, having a fun time at the beach. I love every chance I get going to the beach since I miss living close to one. It wasn't anything like the tropical beaches back home. But I still loved the waves, the wind, the people and all that fun stuff you only get to experience at a beach.I also got to have my favorite...SEAFOOD! It was a short trip but was a fun one.
The kids had a blast too

Guess who's back?

I haven't blogged in like over a year for two reasons. Mainly because I was mostly doing these
OR being
On top of this, I couldn't deal with having to entertain people with my wonderfully exciting life anymore:D. So,I made my blog private for a while. But upon constant request from friends and some family I have decided to get back into the blogging world and make it public again. Besides, it's good to keep a journal right? I hope I am a better blogger the second time around and not a seasonal one. Anyways, I am glad to be back!
