Our trip to Las Vegas

Christmas Day

We made a nice Turkey dinner Christmas day with some American and SriLankan dishes. I made Biriyani, Eggplant and some onion-cucumber curd thing (I don't know what they are called). Steven made Turkey, mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes. They weren't too bad for trying to make a big dinner on our own for the first time. Later we tested our food out on our family that came over for dinner. They are still alive so I'm thinking the food wasn't too bad :) Anyways these are some pictures of what we gave each other for christamas.
A set of weights, some jeans, and an electric toothbrush for
Steven

A nice Jacket, and nintendo DS with some games was what I got

All our gifts put together. Fun eh?

Chrismas Eve

We exchanged PJs on christmas eve and had Pizza while watching the classic show "It's a wonderful life". That was pretty much what we did christmas eve, but it was loads of fun.

Steven was pretty excited to get his new PJs
In the process of opening his PJs

I got cute red PJs with matching slippers to go with it

Us in our new PJs. Don't we match?

Indian dance

Yesterday we attended my older sister's dance performance here at BYU. They had an international fest. There were so many people from different countries that showed their beautiful cultures off and my sister did an Indian belly dancing. She has always been a great dancer. It was so fun to watch her perform. We all had such a fun time.

Sustaining Grant

This last Sunday at church during sacrament meeting we had a few sustaining to do. Grant was sitting quietly and watching people raise their right hand and seconds later he started doing it. As soon as he saw people bring their hand up and down, he would raise his right hand up high and bring it back down. He kept doing this a couple of times during each sustaining. We thought it was so funny, but I also learned an important lesson there that children do what the adults do and if we teach them the right things they follow and it is also true the other way around.

Halloween

This is kind of a late update, but Grant was a dinosaur for Halloween this year. This is practically his first Halloween and we took him trick-or-treating at the mall. It was loads of fun and he was super cute in his costume. We collected a few pieces of candy which we ended up eating. I'm glad Grant did not realized we stole his candy :)

A night at the corn maze!

Grant playing in the corn or rather watching other kids play

I have always wanted to try riding a mechanical bull and I finally had the opportunity. I just loved it and maybe next time I'll ride on a real bull =)

Going through the corn maze was fun. It was dark which made it even more exciting.

This is me in Cinderella's chariot. How dreamy!
The giant rocking chair!

They had some amazing pumpkin carvings there.

Expert spoon user!

Grant has learned to feed himself. The other day I was feeding him Yogurt and he kept grabbing the spoon from me and so I gave it to him. He Took a spoon full of yogurt on his own and stuck it right into his mouth. It was fun to watch him eat on his own. He even tried to feed me . Its is so exciting to watch him grow and learn new things. I sometimes worry when I think that he is still not walking, but it looks like he is pretty advanced when it comes to other things like saying little words and using a spoon to eat etc. Oh well, you can't always be best at everything all at once.

Random pictures of Grant

Grant after his shots! He got his shots a day after his birthday and was really tired when we got home. Poor baby! I put him on his high chair and was on the phone with my sister. When I got back he was asleep like this.

Ok the other day we went and got some diapers for Grant and the baby model on the diaper bag looked so much like Grant. I thought it was funny and cute so I took a picture of them both together.

Grant loves to eat his food on his own. He is really learning to be independent.
