All aboard!!!!

Today for the toddler's group we went to Berkshire trains, which is a train store where they have a place for kids to play with trains, paint them and go on rides and stuff. Since Grant turned two he has this major love for trains. So once we got there and were walking towards the store, he saw a picture of Thomas at the window of the store and was literally pulling me by the arm to get into the store. Anyways, once we went inside he just had a blast playing and going on rides. While playing he totally forgot that I even existed in the room. He is so cute and fun and is so easy keep happy and satisfied.

Big day for the boys

We celebrated two big events this last Friday. One was Grant's 2nd birthday and the other was Steven's white coat ceremony. I tried to have a nice little birthday party for Grant with his friends. But there was too much going on that day to have a party. Thank goodness he still doesn't know alot about birthday, so it was a relief to know that he wasn't disappointed. But I promised to myself that next year we are definitely going to have a party for him. He still got a cake and his favorite Thomas train set. He also got a gift from his friend next door. So he is all excited about his new toys and has been constantly playing with them and taking them everywhere he goes.
Steven's white coat ceremony went so well. I was so proud of my husband for his achievement. He is so smart and will be such a great dentist someday.
These are pictures from the white coat ceremony:

These are other dental students from his class that graduated from BYU

Turn the Spotlight on these two handsome men please :)

Since it was a big day for both the boys we had to get a cake with the school name on it.

Grant tried blowing the candle out but couldn't quite get it. Maybe next year he'll be big enough to blow harder without daddy's help

He loves it.

Learn and play

So I have been trying to find activities for Grant to do everyday since we moved here. We go to the park almost everyday and I take him to a huge book store by our house that reads stories and sings songs to kids that are Grant's age and younger. I also joined a mother's group that consist of about 27 mothers that do weekly activities with their kids.I think it will be a great opportunity for Grant to play and socialize with other kids and also for me to get to know some mothers from around this area. Anyways, Grant really loves to go to the bookstore every week for story time. After that, we stay for a little bit and play.

Bourban land welcomes us

So for those of you who don't know, we are officially moved to Lexington, KY where my husband started dental school last week. We have been here for the past 2 weeks and like it a lot. The first thing I like about it is the fact that we live right across from a huge mall and everywhere else we need to go is less than 5-10 minutes away. Then, I love how green it is, it almost reminds me of back home. I love how humid it is here as well. You heard me right, I love the humidity! It is the perfect amount to keep your skin nice and moist and you don't feel the heat as much because of it. You know what I'm talking about if you moved from Utah.
Yesterday was Steven's birthday and we went to the zoo here, which was like an hour away and the drive was so pretty. We saw some horse fields which were huge and green with nicely cut grass and fences like you see in the movies. It was fun! I like how friendly the people are and having a nice ward and neighbors. All in all, we are starting to like this place.
This field looked so amazing. But it is not very clear in the picture

Other pics are from the Louisville zoo

Born again

Today I celebrate 6 years of being a member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. These six years have been the best years of my life. I have learned and grown so much in the church and the gospel. I know I have a million more things to learn about the church, but one thing is for sure. From the simple knowledge and testimony, I have learned from the gospel I can testify that the church is true. These 5 years of my life has brought me on a journey that I would never have taken if I had not been part of the church. I am grateful that my family found the love of our Savior through the missionaries that taught us and we were prompted to accept it in our lives. The day, July 5, 2003, will always have a special place in my heart as the rebirth of my entire family that got baptized.

Fathers are the best

Since this last week was Father's Day, I wanted to take a minute to write all about the differences the two fathers have made in my life and how special they are and have been to me.
First my dad! He is a very special man that has a heart full of love and compassion for others. He is a hard worker, a go-getter and best of all he is an example of what a good dad should be like. One of the best things he has taught me all throughout my life is the importance of being healthy and working out. Every minute of my life I am trying to live a life like him. He has always been there for me and given me a life like a princess. I am grateful for all the good things he has taught me by words and by actions. His life itself is a true example of how a good human being should live. I wouldn't be the person I am today if it weren't for my dad(and mom). He has made so many sacrifices for all his children and he still does. I love him so much and nobody in the world is lucky enough to have a dad like mine.
\
Next best dad would be my wonderful, handsome, sweet, and hard-working husband. Like my Dad, he has done an amazing job taking care of me and our son in making sure that we are happy. There are times I give up when stresses in life hit me hard but he is always there to hold me when I fall and encourage me to keep going. One of the best things I love about my husband is his spirituality. I can go to him with any question I have about the gospel and at the end of our conversation my testimony is always strengthened. I know with no doubt that when Grant is older he is going to learn so much from his smart daddy! He has taught me to believe in myself and there has never been a day in my life when I have heard him say anything mean about me. I love him so so much and he is the sweetest sweetie I have ever had.

Little body , lots of fun!

I haven't updated my blog forever! We have been doing a lot of stuff but I kept forgetting to take my camera with me every time we were out doing something. I just think postings with no pictures is pretty boring so I never end up updating my blog for a while. But, here are some interesting pictures of Grant I took recently when he was enjoying his own little world.

This is the look he gives when he know he is in trouble.

He was so fascinated with his band aid and he kept playing with it like this for along time.

He put his shoes on by himself, and even put them on the right feet.

Daddy's little copy cat.

Happy birthday to me

I had tons of fun on my birthday! Since my birthday fell on a Sunday this year I got to celebrate it the next day too. Birthday morning was full of surprises like decorated kitchen, gifts and yummy crapes.

My sweet husband making breakfast for me

Grant wishing me a happy birthday

My gifts

Later Steven made some Cinnamon rolls. They were good. The next day we went to boon docks hoping to go on their fun rides and remembered that Grant was too little to go with us. So we had to settle for a game of mini golf. But with our "mini man" (Grant) that didn't go very smooth. He kept hitting our balls all over the place with his little golf club. Oh well! But I had fun taking lots of pictures of my little golf player.

Gotta have a picture of the family too.

The fun didn't end here. I got to go shopping too. yay!!

Water Park

Since the weather has been nice here,we decided to take Grant to the water park yesterday. So far yesterday was the hottest day of the year here. It was around 93 degrees. Grant had fun running through the sprinklers and playing at the park.
